Training
CPC offers two types of training for adults about child abuse identification and intervention:
- Training for professionals who work in the field of child abuse or who work with children.
- Training for adults in the community who want to learn how to identify and intervene in cases of child abuse.
Training for professionals:
CPC offers training for members of the multidisciplinary team -- law enforcement, child abuse investigators, Family Court, medial and mental health providers and other professionals who work with children about the Child Protection Network Protocol.
This essential training includes the protocol for referring children to CPC as well as child abuse identification and intervention. These trainings, which are conducted throughout the year by CPC staff, are available at no cost. Training for adults in the community:
CPC is an authorized facilitator of Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children Training, a program designed for all adults interested in protecting children.
Stewards of Children is a revolutionary sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse and motivates them to courageous action.
